Welcome to ODOT's Basketball tournament of the year for 2008. This is the 17th annual 'Tin-Can' Rally. It is called that because we are raising funds for the Governor's Food Drive to help feed the hungry in Oregon.
All proceeds go towards a 'pool', in which teams select which food bank their percentage goes towards. For example, the top 4 teams get to choose where the majority of the tournament 'pooled' proceeds go (e.g. food bank of their choice). Typically 90% of the proceeds are split between the top 4 teams. An example of this breakdown is 1st place = 35%, 2nd place = 25%, 3rd place = 20%, and 4th place = 10%. The remaining 10% is divided equally amongst the other teams.
We Raised $2,632.84!!! 8 teams contributed more that $350.00!!
*Sportsmanship Team award - The ODOT GIS TEAM!
*Most Contributions Team award - Jay Davenport from Region 4 team. Individually raised $260.00 from donations and donated $80.00 toward his portion of team fees!!!
*Notable Single Contribution Sponsorship award - John Terpening from Hoop Soldier team. Akzo Nobel sponsored John for $150.00, in addition to his $20.00 team fee donation.
*Individual Contributions Award - Chris Rowland, for scorekeeping for his team and staying the rest of the day and continuing to scorekeep, even for the final game.
*Free Throw Champ Award - Lloyd Bledsoe and Jon Lazarus TIED

EVENTS AND AWARDS
We are planning to bring back the access to FREE 15 MINUTE MASSAGES by Licensed Massage Therapists on Saturday. The therapists are donating their time for the charity event, so please check them out and take their business card. You may be able to schedule time with them for a fee during the tournament.
We have several unique awards for this tournament.
*The top four team's will receive prizes that were donated (secret, secret..wait and see)
